Words of comfort

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (New International Version)

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

One of the blogs I love to read is Bowen's Heart. The writer is a singer whose son has a serious heart condition. The father was talking about a funeral and how he thought this bible quote was very applicable to that day. I think it applies to many other situations including fear of getting old or as a friend was today, dealing with grief and depression.

I think this blog is turning into a do-it-yourself bible study for me but that's the joy of blogging - one can write about what is meaningful to them and what helps them.
