The Falls

John and his family w the Dekkers

Romey and his John Deere gear

Aunt Stacy

Too cute!

Dad, Mom, Stacy, Meni and Romey

Loving siblings

Finally dusted off the digital camera and thanks to Jim learned how to upload pictures without crashing the computer!
Met the family at Snoqualmie Falls. While we were waiting for the Dekkers from Yakima, Romey watched the dogs in the dog grooming shop, played with the sidewalk chalk, drove a racecar shopping car and generally had a great time.

Book suggestion from Lynn

How cool! Lynn went to ww.librarything.com, put in the books in her library and they came up with a book for her to try - Zorro by Isabel Allende. I have read Portrait in Sepia and Daughter of Fortune and loved them both. Allende's prose is just beautiful. Wonder if that is related to the Spanish-English translation factor. Spanish seems like such a poetic language. Allende's characters are also very well "painted with words". Going to request Zorro from the library.

Cybersecurity Act of 2009

Just heard about this today. Looks like it is in committee. If you get a chance, google it and read the entire text

S.773 - Cybersecurity Act of 2009
A bill to ensure the continued free flow of commerce within the United States and with its global trading partners through secure cyber communications, to provide for the continued development and exploitation of the Internet and intranet communications for such purposes, to provide for the development of a cadre of information technology specialists to improve and maintain effective cybersecurity defenses against disruption, and for other purposes.

What a Sunday!

Today, we took the 2-wheeled marriage counselor (motorcycle) to Silverdale via the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. Bought a RV at Clear Creek RV. Had dinner with friends from High School Rox and Steve. Then we visited some more with Romey our nephew from LA. Romey liked the motorcycle but wasn't too thrilled about seeing Aunt Sandy in a motorcycle helmet. More about Romey when I get mom's digital pictures from yesterday.

Mr. D

Jim and I went to our 30th high school reunion on Saturday. It was held in the high school courtyard.
Wonderful company, wonderful food, wonderful music. We were able to tour the school. The very young looking varsity cheerleaders served us our appetizers!
The highlight of the evening was seeing Mr. Delateur the band teacher who took us to such fun locations as Mile High Stadium in Denver for Drum Corps International and Jackson Hole Wyoming to open the rodeo.
The pictures are former drum and bugle corps members with Mr. D.

Book Review

Has anyone read Expecting Adam by Martha Beck? It is the story of a Harvard doctoral candidate who is on the fast track to academic success. When her 2nd child is born with Down's syndrome, everything she knows is turned upside down. This is a mystical, spritual, and incredibly life-affirming story. Oh, it is also hysterically funny in parts.

St. Thomas More P Patch

8 pounds of produce to the Lynnwood Food Bank today. This is fun but does anyone know what kind of critter is eating my cabbage and collards?

Approximate 24 dogs arrived yesterday afternoon from Colorado. All in great shape thanks to the wonder vet who not only took care of all of their medical needs but also drove them herself.
