Survival wows them at the Bellevue Petsmart

Had the opportunity to take this sweet well-behaved kennel dog to the Bellevue Petsmart meet and greet. He seemed to love the car ride, however wasn't so happy about the big hop up into the car.

He met lots of new 2 and 4 legged friends. He was wonderful with everyone, even walked past the kitties without paying them any attention. Took him for a walk around the store and he did lots of nosing around the pet food aisle.

Several of his human admirers loved how he affectionately leaned against humans or his new greyhound buddies. They also loved his bunny soft fur! Could one of these admirers be his new future family?

Saturday turn-out at the kennel

Down to just 18 dogs. Everyone has been doing a great job of getting the greys adopted and fostered. The meet and greet booths at various locations are one of the secrets of their success.

Cabello is young and spunky. He gets so excited about going outside for turn-out that he bucks like a bucking bronco. He was in affectionate "velcro dog" mode tonight.

Volt is tall, handsome and very refined. A real gentleman!

Greyhound Pets Inc. on KOMO News

The adoption frenzy continues as more tracks close. AZ recently shut down their greyhound track and more closures are scheduled. Moira, our director says that ABC is also wanting to do a story on GPI. Hope this publicity leads to lots of greys being placed in loving homes!

Here's the story:

Some greyt news

This week was full of swine flu news at the clinic, unemployment news from loved ones, and political unhappiness from other loved ones. Thought I would share a YouTube video about Greyhound Pets Inc. They make me happy. May you all be blessed with finding what makes you happy too. Hold your loved ones close and remember that we will get through any hard times together.

By the way, turn the sound up if you can - great music!

New faces at the Greyhound Pets Inc. kennel

They're being aloof for the camera but these girls had the best time chasing each other and getting attention

Mr. Leaner - a greyhound sign of affection

No one wanted to look at the camera!

Except this sweetie

We ran, played soccer, chased each other, and gave out lots of love and grooming. Then we got out the puppy cookies (dog biscuits) and string cheese.

Waiting on the greyhounds

Greyhound Pets is expecting 19 dogs from AZ tomorrow morning. We are starting to get updates as to the driver's status. The quicker the better as most drivers don't give the dogs potty or water breaks. Hope to be there to greet the newcomers but have to work Saturday mornings at the library.

Was supposed to be at a celebration potluck for the P-patch tonight but couldn't handle going back out in this rainy yucky weather. Enjoying reading the blogs. So cool that Jan is blogging! What a fun form of self-expression. Very grateful tonight for so much.

Greyhound Pets Inc. Picnic 2009

Unfortunately, due to rain, the picnic was held in the meeting room. We missed using the beautiful big yard but all seemed to have a good time anyway.
By the way, don't know if you can see in the pictures, but each dog had a name tag saying Hroo my name is ____

New arrivals at Greyhound Pets Inc.

Approximate 24 dogs arrived yesterday afternoon from Colorado. All in great shape thanks to the wonder vet who not only took care of all of their medical needs but also drove them herself.
