I seem to be on a non-fiction kick but it really can be more dramatic and more inspiring than fiction. This is the story of Deo and the atrocities he experiences as he gets caught up in the violence between the Tutsis and the Hutus in Burundi. We then follow Deo through refugee camps and then to the United States where he goes from sleeping in Central Park to college graduate. He is eventually able to return and help his people. His story is amazing and Tracy Kidder's information on the Tutsi/Hutu war is fascinating.

My favorite author was sharing how much this hymn meant to her, partly because it was played at her brother's funeral. It means a lot to me, mostly because of the incredible story of the former slavetrader and how God used him to create probably the most beautiful, comforting hymn ever.

They brought with them Addie (Moira's dog) and Royal, who retired from racing in Oklahoma and is now looking for a family to spend her golden years.
